Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in our Ottawa Field Operations where needed including but not limited to:

• Ease of movement with the ability to safely bend, kneel and climb. Must be able to safely lift 65 lbs.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all conditions and have previous general labour experience in construction, landscaping, excavating, heavy equipment, and driving vehicles & trailers.

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record – AR license preferred.

• Assist with traffic control as directed.
• Perform various construction tasks using landscaping and power tools (e.g., compaction plates, jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors)
• Experience with mini ex preferred.
• May assist HDD crews, Aerial Crews, equipment operators and VAC truck operators.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job Information

Pentagon Group has immediate openings for experienced Equipment Operators to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. Candidates must have experience with equipment operating procedures as well as driving & transporting equipment. Candidates must be able to read and interpret plans and locates on site. A strong safety conduct is required as safety is a key to our success!

Responsibilities and Experience

• Documenting all repairs performed each shift and making note of any upcoming repairs required (Preventative Maintenance)
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner
• Miscellaneous jobs assigned by the Foreman

Qualifications

• 2+ years of equipment operation experience
• Safety certificates (First Aid, Ground Disturbance)
• Ability to meet physical requirements (bend, sit, lift, and stand for prolonged periods of time)
• Commitment to a safe work culture
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
